We've been so blessed to have such a wonderful campus pastor, but
Pastor Jeff has moved on in the pursuit of furthering his education. Our
thoughts and prayers are with him and his family and we look forward to seeing
them again someday.
We are also blessed to have many fine pastors in our area who are willing to
take over and provide some insight to questions you might have.
If you
have any questions you'd like to ask about the Bible or God
or anything, fill out the form below. We'll post a question and
answer here every week.

Q: From Sarah, age
11 - "In the Bible, what does it mean when it talks about the
"Leviathan" in Job 41:1-34?
A:
There are two thoughts on what the Leviathan is. First, it could be just a
symbol of evil. The history is that in Palestinian mythology, the
Leviathan was a primeval sea monster who battles against Baal. (Remember
Baal, Elijah and the fire from Heaven?) This way God conquers
Leviathan. The fact that God "plays" with Leviathan is explained
in that God is so big that when he deals with false gods, it's like playing -
it's so easy.
The other idea is that Leviathan is a literal beast. Leviathan means
"crooked". Thus it could be a writhing, wriggling, crooked beast
like a crocodile, a whale, or a snake. It can symbolize evil nations that
God uses or punishes.
I have a friend who believes that dinosaurs survived the flood. And
that explains the dragons and Loch Ness Monster and other stories from the Dark
Ages. She still thinks some may exist in the Congo in Africa.
My guess, the Leviathan was some tremendous beast that probably doesn't exist
today. Try this website for more info, www.nwcreation.net/bibledinos.
