Let the same mind be in you

Here's your chance to be a Buddy!  Below is a list of different kinds of Buddies and a small description of the duties involved.  After you have read the list, contact the Home Room Buddy in the classroom you want to help.  They will guide you through the sign up process.

EVERYONE can be a Buddy!

Home Room Buddy - Help the Home & School Committee with their various functions and events.  The committee meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month on the Livingstone campus.  Tasks include helping teachers coordinate volunteers and find additional Buddies to help as needed.  You'll be a teacher's best friend!

Hot Lunch Buddy - Help serve lunch, take cash, clean up after lunch.  Your time commitment would be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. any day of the week that works for you, Monday through Friday.

Country Fair Buddy - Help pull off our annual Country Fair.  The fair is held every year in early November.  There are many jobs associated with our Fair, from set up to clean up.  And remember, many hands make light work.

Library Buddy - Help keep our fine school library running smoothly.  Books need to be organized and kept up.  This is a perfect job if you only have a couple hours a week to give.  There is "home work" with this job as one could take books, that need protective plastic coverings put on, with you to work on in your spare time.

Field Trip Buddy - Help organize and supervise on field trips.  A great way to have fun with the kids and see interesting things all over our great state.

Book Buddy - Prepare the Scholastic Book orders for a classroom.  This will take 1 - 3 hours a month.

Student Buddy - Mentor a student.  It's so important for kids to have positive adult role models.  By helping a student with their reading or writing, you show you care and you make a real difference.

Teacher Buddy - Assist a teacher with various tasks around the classroom.  File, type, clean, repair, etc., etc., etc.  There are endless little jobs that you can do with a little time and energy.

Spring Workbee - Every spring, once the winter rains have ended, we take a Sunday morning to clean up.  There are lawns to mow and shrubs to clip and windows to clean.  We'll be announcing the date soon for Spring 2005, so that you can mark your calendar.

Remember, if you have a special talent and a desire to give a little of yourself, PLEASE, let us knowWe're always happy to welcome a new Buddy.  If you have any questions, you can contact us at the school at 503-363-9408.
