Learning should be meaningful and interesting. To the casual observer, our curriculum focus is a traditional one. We teach what children have been taught for years. Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, Health, Practical Arts, Physical Education, Music and of course, Bible, make up our courses of study in Kindergarten through 12th Grade. A more careful observation, however, reveals that we are taking the "traditional" and teaching in nontraditional and even more effective ways...
Our Mission: AccreditationThe Seventh-day Adventist Church operates an educational system extending from kindergarten through university level. This is done at great expense and sacrifice of its members. The reason for this may be questioned in a country where taxation supports a public school system. Seventh-day Adventists have a system of beliefs and a group of spiritual standards and values, unique in character, which we believe justify the operation of a private educational system. Livingstone Adventist Academy is accredited by the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools, and the Accrediting Association of Seventh-day Adventist Schools, which is a member of the National Council for Private School Accreditation. Constituent ChurchesLivingstone is sponsored and subsidized by the eight Seventh-day Adventist churches which are located in the mid-Willamette Valley/greater Salem, Oregon area - Salem Central, East Salem, Salem Spanish, South Salem, Silverton, Stayton, Dallas, Woodburn. These churches, in cooperation with the Oregon Conference, also provide members which make up our governing School Board. Our school board is chaired by Jerry Magee, a daily example of commitment even after more than twenty years as a part of the LAA school family both as a parent and grandparent! 2000-2008 © Livingstone
